Performance
Alice is a busy freelancer, performing, touring and recording with many leading period ensembles, such as Gabrieli Consort & Players, English Concert, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, La Nuova Musica, Music for Awhile, Hanover Band, Canzona, St. James’ Baroque, London Early Opera, Instruments of Time and Truth, Monteverdi String Band, Armonico Consort and The Oxford Bach Soloists. Alice loved her time on the OAE Scheme (2019-21) and with Belsize Baroque (Leadership Bursary 2018-19).

Alice relishes her vibrant chamber music life, in particular The Canario Ensemble which Alice formed alongside her fellow historical musicians – Miriam Nohl and Amelia Shakespeare. The group specialises in creating accessible early music programmes for Live Music Now and enjoyed performing in The Wigmore Hall for Music for the Moment (a concert series for those living with dementias). With FIGO (2017-2019), Alice took part in the BREMF Live Scheme 2018, various recitals in London (including in Wigmore Hall), Newbury and Hexham and their residencies at The Brecon Baroque Festival (2019) and The Clifton International Festival of Music (2018/19).
In 2018, Alice graduated from The Royal Academy of Music with an MA (Distinction) in Historical Performance where she studied as an Enlightenment Scholar under the tutelage of Margaret Faultless, Rachel Podger, Nicolette Moonen and Jane Rogers. During her studies she performed at The Wigmore Hall, at St. John’s Smith Square and in the Kohn Bach Cantata Series (directors such as Jane Glover and Philippe Herreweghe). In July 2017 Alice received her Postgraduate Diploma with Distinction from The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where she was an EMI Sound Foundation Scholar. Alice studied modern violin with Lesley Hatfield (Leader of BBC NOW) and Itzhak Rashkovsky and baroque violin with Rachel Podger. RWCMD highlights include BBC NOW and WNO placements, leading Verdi’s Falstaff under Carlo Rizzi’s baton, performing solo in baroque concerti such as Bach’s Double Violin Concerto, Valentini’s Concerto For Four Violins with Rachel Podger and her performance of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons (Principal 2nd). Alice graduated from The University of Bristol in 2015 with a 2:1 BA Honours in Music and, having led the symphony, chamber and festival orchestras, was awarded the Ladyman Bequest Prize.

- Handel’s Ariodante with English Concert at the Palais Garnier, Paris. (April - May 2023)
- Playing Viola d’amore alongside Theresa Caudle in Canterbury Cathedral (Hanover Band) and St. Paul’s Cathedral
- Playing a “Monteverdi” violin in performances of Monteverdi Vespers alongside Theresa Caudle
- Guest-leading Cambridge Philharmonic’s Haydn Nelson Mass
- Music For Awhile with Margaret Faultless, performing a composition Alice created using folk songs from the local area
- Opera Settecento Arias for Ballino CD recording
- Recital series with The Portrait Players performing Handel’s German Arias
- Leonarda’s Sonata Duodecima a Violino solo for Eboracum Baroque (for whom Alice frequently leads)
